Will  Trumpcare Cost You More Than Obamacare?

The short answer, yes.

Yes, Trumpcare will most likely cost you more than Obamacare if you have a pre-existing health condition or you are an older person. By older, I am referring to over 50 years old.

Yes, Trumpcare maybe worse than Obamacare.

I am not a fan of Obamacare.

Most people I know are not in favor of Obamacare.

My friends and family are upset that health care costs are increasing because of Obamacare.

I do applaud Obamacare Affordable Healthcare Act that requires health insurance plans to cover people with pre-existing health conditions, including pregnancy, without charging more.

However, the costs of Obamacare are spiraling out of control.

President Trump is spearheading a new health care proposal that wants to uphold Obamacare’s health law that people with pre-existing conditions can not be denied healthcare however they desire to eliminate the Essential Health Benefits (EHB).

The House’s recent passing of the American Health Care Act and the Senate’s Better Care Reconciliation Act of 2017 (BCRA) should have people concerned.

The American Health Care Act places ill people into the high-risk pools. The high-risk pools would cause anyone with a serious medical condition to pay substantially higher premiums.

Fortunately, the Better Care Reconciliation Act BCRA (in the version released on June 22, 2017) plans to amend the American Health Care Act’s high-risk pools.

The Better Care Reconciliation Act BCRA proposes to amend part of the AHCA.

The portion of the American Health Care Act that reads states cannot pass laws that allow health insurance companies to deny coverage to applicants; including pre-existing health issues.

The Better Care Reconciliation Act plans to give a caveat to the health insurance companies; the BCRA will allow states to offer scale down insurance plans.

How Are State Health Insurance Companies Affected By The Better Care Reconciliation Act?

States will not be required to offer “Essential Health Benefits (EHB)”

The Essential Health Benefits Matters!

What Is The Essential Health Benefits (EHB)?

A set of 10 categories of services health insurance plans must cover under ObamaCare’s Affordable Care Act.

The following are the Ten Essential Health Benefits (EHB) categories:

1. ambulatory patient services e.g. Needing an ambulance to go to the hospital
2. emergency services
3. hospitalization
4. maternity and newborn care
5. mental health and substance use disorder services including behavioral health treatment
6. prescription drugs
7. rehabilitative and habilitative services and devices
8. laboratory services
9. preventive and wellness services and chronic disease management
10. pediatric services, including oral and vision care

In addition to paying more money if you have a pre-existing condition, you could also pay more as you age.

The Better Health Reconciliation Act plans to allow health insurance to charge older people up to five times more than younger people.

Allowing health insurance premiums to reflect the riskiness of the citizens makes financial sense to health insurance companies. However, this is America; we need a better healthcare system.

Obamacare has a negative financial impact for the portion of society that pays for health insurance. However, Trumpcare may cause financial devastation for those who have pre-existing health conditions or over 50 years of age.

If each day our government can tax, regulate our lives then how about a flat tax for a health care system.

A flat tax, e.g.. .02 cents on all goods and services, besides food.

The funds from the products and services would help pay for Health Essential Benefits for all American citizens.

The rest of the Health Essential funding would come from government health subsidies.

A flat tax would enable all American citizens to have health care.

Some people may argue the wealthier people should pay more for healthcare.

The more affluent would pay more because they purchase more good and services than someone of lesser means.

My healthcare plan is straightforward and easy to execute.

America needs a simple, fair, transparent health care plan.

The flat tax is my answer to America Healthcare problem.
