Autoimmune Cure, Low Dose Naltrexone?

Autoimmune Cure, Low Dose Naltrexone?

Thank You LDN Organization and LND Trust- YOU ROCK!

Thank You LDN Organization and LND Trust- YOU ROCK!

It is Sunday morning and I realized that I have written several blogs about the usage of low-dose naltrexone (LDN) as a novel anti-inflammatory treatment for chronic pain  but in my cloudy brain fogged world I have forgotten to post the blogs. So, my HypoGalBlog will be bombarded
with blog posts today 🙂

My Magic Pill, Low Dose Naltrexone has been effective at helping me gain some balance in my life. For the last several months I have taken a low dosage of Naltrexone 4.5mg at bedtime. The results from Low Dose Naltrexone amaze me.

Besides, Sheehan’s Syndrome I suffer from an extremely serious rare disease Relapsing Polychondritis. My cartilage is destroying itself and it can feel my cartilage being burnt and attacked. Sadly, there are days when my body feels like it is being cooked alive.

Wanting to alleviate the burning, painful sensations that run through my body I desperate searched for a better treatment plan.  Fortunately, I stumbled across Low Dose Naltrexone. Since I started Low Dose Naltrexone the burning, debilitating chronic pain has slowly decreased. I have little doubt that Low Dose Naltrexone helps reduce inflammation throughout the body.

Jarred Younger, Luke Parkitny, and David McLain published a paper in the National Institute for Health that stated in this review, we will discuss the concept of using low-dose naltrexone (LDN) as a novel anti-inflammatory treatment for chronic pain conditions that are suspected to be associated with inflammatory processes. Within a specific dosage window, opioid antagonists such as naltrexone can exert a “paradoxical” analgesic effect.

The twenty plus page report concluded the totality of the basic and clinical research to date
suggests that LDN is a promising treatment approach for chronic pain conditions thought to involve inflammatory processes. The clinical data supporting its use are very preliminary, and more research is needed before the treatment approach can be widely recommended.

Critical parameters such as dosing still need to be refined. LDN may emerge as the first of many glial cell modulators that could be used to treat chronic conditions, with more specifically targeted medications developed in the future.

As conventional anti-inflammatories have poor blood brain-barrier permeability, we expect centrally active immune modulators to be an area of interest in the future.

I have spend over a decade trying to find my Magic Pill. For me, Low Dose Naltrexone is as close as I have found.

Where To Purchase LDN

IMPORTANT: Make sure to specify that you do NOT want LDN in a slow-release form.

Reports have been received from patients that their pharmacies have been supplying a slow-release form of naltrexone. Pharmacies should be instructed NOT to provide LDN in an “SR” or slow-release or timed-release form. Unless the low dose of naltrexone is in an unaltered form,
which permits it to reach a prompt “spike” in the blood stream, its therapeutic effects may be inhibited.

Fillers. Capsules of LDN necessarily contain a substantial percentage of neutral inactive filler. Experiments by the compounding pharmacist, Dr. Skip Lenz, have demonstrated that the use of calcium carbonate as a filler will interfere with absorption of the LDN capsule.
Therefore, it is suggested that calcium carbonate filler not be employed in compounding LDN capsules. He recommends either Avicel, lactose (if lactose intolerance is not a problem), or sucrose fillers as useful fast-release fillers.

> IMPORTANT: Make sure to fill your Rx at a compounding pharmacy that has a reputation for consistent reliability in the quality of the LDN it delivers.

The FDA has found a significant error rate in compounded prescriptions produced at randomly selected pharmacies. Dr. Bihari has reported seeing adverse effects from this problem. Please see our report, Reliability Problem With Compounding Pharmacies. Please see the above list of recommended pharmacies for some suggested sources.3
