Where Are Your Adrenal Glands Located?

Where Are Your Adrenal Glands Located?

You have one Adrenal Gland on top of each Kidney.

What Is The Functions Of The Adrenal Gland?

The function of your Adrenal Glands are to produce and release hormones that help your regulate blood pressure, control blood sugar, burn fat and protein and react to stressors in your life.

The sufficient hormones of the Adrenal Glands are:

  • Aldosterone

Aldosterone helps control your blood pressure.

  • Cortisol

Cortisol helps your body respond to stress and helps to regulate your metabolism.

The Adrenal Glands play an important role in reaction to a major illness or injury.

In times of stress the Adrenal Glands releases additional adrenal hormone named cortisol.

The hormone Cortisol plays an essential role in your health. If an individual does not have of the Cortisol hormone in their body they may go into Adrenal Crisis during an illness or accident.

An Adrenal Crisis is a medical emergency and potentially life-threatening situation requiring immediate emergency treatment.
