UCLA Neurological Surgeon Dr. Geoffrey Colby Medical Expertise Gives Life

The months have flown, but each day I give gratitude that UCLA Neurological Surgeon Dr. Geoffrey Colby medical expertise gives life to my husband, and our family.

With are fortunate that Doctor Colby was able to diagnosis, test and provide my husband life-saving brain surgery within a week’s time.

Doctor Colby and his talented surgical team performed six-hour brain surgery to correct the rare dural arteriovenous fistulas (dAVF’s) that was placing pressure on my husband’s brain.

The extreme pressure from my husband’s dural arteriovenous fistulas was causing his dura to split apart.

What Is Dura?

Dura or Dura Mater is a thick membrane made of dense irregular connective tissue that surrounds the brain and spinal cord.

My husband’s Dural Arteriovenous Fistula story is on the following link; From Water In The Ear To Dural Arteriovenous Fistula Brain Surgery In 90 Days.

Tomorrow’s Cerebral Anagram

My husband’s scheduled cerebral anagram tomorrow is a reminder of how fast six months can speed by.

The last six months have amplified how life can change in seconds, why second medical opinions are essential and how thankful our family is for the extraordinary medical skills of Dr. Geoffrey Colby.

The photo below is my husband with Dr. Colby several weeks after his surgery.

I want to note that the medical expertise at U.C.L.A. has saved my life also.

I was near death before an open-minded Dr. Froch thought I might have the rare disease, Sheehan’s Syndrome.

It is easy to write that the landscape of our family would be entirely different if we had not sought out the talented medical doctors of U.C.L.A.
