Relapsing Polychondritis Symptoms or Tissue Connective Disease Symptoms?
My run of good days ended last night when my upper left ear lobe began to simmer and the approximately three inch by five inches patch of raised pigmentation above my ankle began to swell and develop a bruise like a feel and a look.
Ugh, it appears to be a new Relapsing Polychondritis symptom. For the past five years, the pigmentation above my left ankle had been bumpy, each day filled with bursts of pain sensation but the area had never bruised. So, with my new symptom, I ask my
So, with my new symptom, I ask my fellow RP forum members their opinion. Several members of the Relapsing Polychondritis group promptly replied- thank you for your prompt replies 🙂 Unfortunately, responses so far have not shade light on what triggered the mixed pigmentation area to bruise.
I do believe my blue, black, brown, and pinkish bruise-like patch of skin is a Relapsing Polychondritis symptom. Several other Relapsing Polychondritis members stated they had had similar sporadic skin areas similar to mine.
However, their bruises were in different parts of their body, e.g., Stomach, thigh. Some Relapsing Polychondritis members stated that their bruised like area did not have any pain. Whereas, other Relapsing Polychondritis members were similar to me and experienced a painful bruise. I upped my steroids last night and this morning in the hope of extinguishing my latest Relapsing Polychondritis symptom.
This morning the increase in steroids seems to have kept my soldering red ear at bay, but my bruised patch of skin remains. I plan on go to Dr. Google and Dr. PubMed to find any related articles about mixed connective tissue disease, Relapsing Polychondritis, and bruises.
However, in the interim, I have written this HypoGal Blog Post to share my latest Relapsing Polychondritis Symptom. I hope a follow RP patient or a person with mixed connect tissue disease may be able to shed light on my bruised raised pigmentation.
Please give me a shout out at Lisa@HypoGal.com if you can offer me any input.
Many thanks in advance!
